Cyber crime has now taken over from acquisitive crime as the biggest issue facing businesses. The recent attack targeting the NHS is a case in point.

Very soon the new General Data Protection Regulations will come into effect. If you store any data about clients or customers – even just a name and address – you face heavy penalties if that data is accessed. And “I got hacked” will not cut it! You will have to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that every possible effort has been made to keep sensitive data safe.

So, the next big thing in UK insurance is cyber liability. This has been active in the US for over a decade and we have access to insurers with US experience that we can benefit from.
